Bute Visitor: Feedback from Aberfeldy

Two Happy Tourists from Aberfeldy wrote to Visit Bute recently:

“My daughter and I recently had a wee break in Bute staying at the Glenburn Hotel. We just wanted to let you all know what a fabulous time we had and how welcoming everyone was!
The weather was great ( unexpected bonus!) There was a gin festival on ( double bonus) we were lucky enough to see seals close up….no words to describe how lovely that was!
We discovered Mount Stuart House… fascinating and breathtaking…could have wandered round all day. The castle.. the hostile seagulls tolerated us!
Loved the wee museum especially the postcards and old photos which gave you a real insight into “old” Bute.
We indulged ( a lot) in retail therapy…met Sophie, so friendly in “The Dressing Room” a beautiful shop..so much choice, and also Barbara in “Butterflies” who is such a character and gave us lots of ideas where to go. We left with half her stock I think.
We enjoyed an open top bus tour with Ian, who was so knowledgeable and friendly we were tempted to stay on the bus for a second trip around the island!
We went into Callums cabin, donated and bought some things and were touched and in awe of the history behind it.
The Kingarth became our fave pub for lunch ..chips to die for!
Safe to say we will be back but wanted you to know how much we loved it all!
In fact we ended up checking out the estate agents window….. wishful thinking?   (Not really – property prices are reasonable)!
