The 2012 25th Anniversary Jazz Festival
Preparation for next May’s festival is very advanced. You can buy your tickets on-line now and the line up of artists has been booked. Such was the popularity of the 2011 that we have managed to re-book some of the acts. We’ll have full details of the gigs in due course.

The Bute International Guitar Festival (The Big F)
September 2012 (TBC)
A Celebration of the world’s most popular musical instrument. With active players conservatively estimated at 50 milllion, the guitar is without doubt the world’s most popular musical instrument. This September Transclyde Music and “The Big F” brings some of the guitar’s finest exponents to the beautiful Isle Of Bute: Rock, Blues, Country, Folk, Rockabilly, Experimental, Bluegrass, Flamenco, Traditional, Americana, Singer-Songwriter and much more in a weekend of concerts, workshops and, open to everyone, an open-mic competition.

The Baird of Bute Celebration
Sept 2012 (dates TBC)
Andrew Blain Baird was a Bute blacksmith who lived in Rothesay 100 years ago.  On September 17, 1910 at Ettrick Bay, Baird flew a plane of his own design and manufacture to record the first all-Scottish heavier-than-air powered flight.
Come and celebrate the 101st anniversary of his flight with a fly past at Ettrick Bay

20th Annual Linedance Festival
Sept 2012 (dates TBC)
Held every year in the Pavilion this is not just some country & western jamboree. The festival caters for many musical styles of line dancing including Latin, Pop, Irish, Blues as well as Country and New Country. The Saturday night is Oscar themed – get on your glad rags and flit across the floor!
