Nestled beside the beautiful coastal location of Kames Bay and neighbouring hillside, Kames provides guests with a scenic and peaceful getaway. The estate has a long and interesting history and all of the cottages at Kames are listed by Historic Scotland. In years gone by they have seen various uses, such as hunting lodges for the Marquess of Bute and accommodation for the many gardeners who looked after the walled garden. The 7 self-catering cottages that are currently available for rent have been recently modernised and accommodate between 2 and 9 guests. All provide comfortable, modern accommodation with all necessary amenities.
Kames Estate comprises 20 acres of private grounds with large lawns at the main courtyard leading to a woodland and walled garden. At the centre of the estate is the impressive 14th Century Keep. The grounds contain a variety of games and facilities including an all-weather tennis court, small putting green, croquet and football goals.
