If you are on the island and you can sail – or have even come to the island by yacht – you should get to know The Isle of Bute Sailing Club (IBSC).
The club house is situated about 15 minute walk from the harbour, overlooking the Bay with slip adjacent – and you can easily see it from the ferry as it comes into port.
Our aim of the club is to encourage, promote and facilitate water sports for all on the Isle of Bute. The Club has Optimists, Toppers, Lasers, and Enterprise dinghies. Members also sail their own boats. We have re-introduced Yacht racing this season and hope this will be successful.
Rothesay Bay provides excellent racing conditions for both dinghies and keelboats. Racing takes place on a Wednesday evening and a Sunday afternoon during the season. Training will take place on a Sunday morning for all.
We welcome all members – new and existing – age range from 7 years old to
well, there’s no upper limit!
We hope to run a Learn to Sail this season and there will be training on a Saturday afternoon and a Sunday morning for members.
The Club runs regular social events and has a small bar for members and visitors – and you can hire the clubhouse for your event too!
We hope to see you here!
