Cycling on Bute received a welcome boost recently in the form of three bicycle repair stations.

The dark grey stations will soon be found at Rothesay Pier, Ettrick Bay Cafe and Scalpsie Viewpoint Carpark and will provide all the tools and equipment needed to carry out basic repairs – including bicycle pumps and even an inner tube vending facility.

The grant from Community Cycling Development Fund was awarded earlier this month to Bute Community Cycling Group.  The Group, which was set up earlier this year, aims to get ordinary folks out on their bikes and they hope that the presence of these repair stations will give people the confidence to get cycling!
