Saturday night saw the opening of The Bute Gallery’s first exhibition in its new and larger premises on Princes Street.
This solo exhibition by Perth-based Lindsay Turk expresses her interest in capturing the most fleeting moments in the natural world; tiny studies of seagulls, the flick of a bird’s wing as it takes flight or the graceful tendrils of a pale jellyfish as it drifts through a slate-dark ocean.
Judging by the excited buzz around the crowded gallery at Saturday’s offical launch of the exhibition, Turk’s paintings have found an admiring audience here on Bute.
Joe Thomas, the Bute Gallery owner and organiser of the exhibition said : “I’m delighted with the success of Saturday’s opening event! And this is just the first of many exhibitions here in the Gallery.”
Lindsay’s work will be on show at The Bute Gallery until 28 June.
