Bike Hire can be found with Bike Bute – Scotland’s first island-based community e-bike scheme. Based at the Rothesay Ferry Terminal, the e-bikes and bikes are bookable via their website.

Bute hosts 3 golf courses each one with panoramic island views.
- Bute Golf Club at Kingarth, near Stravannan Bay, features a 9-hole course with views over to Arran's Sleeping Warrior.
- Port Bannatyne Golf Club offers a unique 13-hole course with a modern clubhouse. Golfers play the first 12 holes, then repeat the first 5, finishing with a separate 18th hole.
- Rothesay Golf Club, circling Canada Hill, provides breathtaking views of the Firth of Clyde, Cowal Hills, Lochs Ridden and Striven, Mull of Kintyre, Isle of Arran, and Ayrshire Hills. Despite its 5419-yard length, the 18 holes pose a challenging yet enjoyable experience for golfers of all levels.

Kilchattan Bay Kayaking & Paddleboarding.
Kilchattan Bay Kayaking is located in a safe and attractive Bay at the southern end of the scenic Isle of Bute on the west coast of Scotland. They hire sit-on kayaks and SUPs (Stand-up Paddleboards ) from the Old Pier in Kilchattan Bay village. They work around the tides, so sometimes will stay open in the evenings. Best paddling times are updated regularly on their Facebook page. Kilchattan Bay Kayaking is owned and managed by Mark Gunston. After teaching watersports and skiing for 35 years in Europe, Israel and the USA, Mark now lives in Kilchattan Bay.

Offering marina storage and yard storage on the hard, Port Bannatyne Marina are fully flexible on when you want to go into storage so everything is built around your sailing needs. Yard storage has access to electricity and water to help with all pre-season preparations and advice and guidance from their team including the SYS specialists. When it is time to launch they can arrange a time to suit you so you can be part of it or just simply leave it with them. You can even monitor your boat on their online CCTV system.

A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it's up to you. A free event, but please register before you first come along. Only ever register with parkrun once and don't forget to bring a scannable copy of your barcode (request a reminder). If you forget it, you won't get a time.

The Isle of Bute Seasports Club (IBSC).
Just minutes from Rothesay centre, the Isle of Bute Seasports Club (IBSC) encourages, promotes and facilitates water sports for everyone on the Isle of Bute. Make new friends, learn new skills, and check out the stunning views of this Victorian paradise from a new perspective. The club runs regular social events and has a small bar for members and visitors. Sailing & rowing takes place on Sunday afternoons.

Bute has a number of wonderful walks. Some may seem obvious such as along the front from Rothesay to Port Bannatyne. Some may be less so, such as through Skippers Woods along to Ardencraig Gardens looking down on the coastline and superb heightened views of Loch Striven. Any which way you walk Bute, you'll always find it interesting.

Bute provides clean, clear waters with wide, sheltered bays, accessible coastlines and stunning scenery just perfect for wild swimmers, and brave plungers. The Outdoor Swimming Society also promotes swimming in the idyllic setting that Bute provides. From the simple pleasure of paddling and floating to the enjoyment of swimming across a shallow bay, all swims should end with a hot drink and a pat on the back.
