Mount Stuart House and Gardens

Explore Britain’s most remarkable Gothic Revival Victorian architectural mansion, Mount Stuart House.  This flamboyant house has 300 acres of lush gardens and shoreline and opens seasonally.  Offering guided tours and self-guided admission or you can book a private tour for exclusive access to hidden gems like the Smoking Room and Burges Chapel. The Bute Collection features fine art, including a Shakespeare First Folio. Visitors will enjoy special unique exhibitions, events and a shop offering locally crafted gifts as well as a relaxing tearoom for light snacks and lunches.

Bute Museum

Situated behind Rothesay Castle, Bute Museum contains a treasure trove of the island's history, archeology and natural history.  You will easily spend an afternoon immersed in the extensive displays from every period of Bute's past.   Children can enjoy handling various natural objects on set out on the 'Touch Table'.  Bute Museum also offers a small but well stocked souvenir shop.

Rothesay Cinema

Avoid any poor weather and enjoy the latest movie in Rothesay Cinema. which is based in the Discovery Centre.  With 82 comfortable seats and even a tuck shop for snacks, the cinema is open 7 days a week.  On Sunday there is always a matinee performance.
